（中央社德州休士頓26日綜合外電報導）官員今天說，侵襲德州與奧克拉荷馬州的滂沱大雨，已在兩州奪走至少10條人命，包括在美國人口最4多城市休士頓造成3人喪生。休士頓街道成河，當局接到約千通求救電話。
由於德州還有許多人失蹤，死亡人數預料還會增加。
休士頓市長派克（Annise Parker）在記者會表示：「許多人把車子開到水位高的地區，不得不棄車而逃。」
休士頓有兩名死者在他們的車內被發現，另一名死者被發現浮在河面上。
雖然派克說休士頓有許多地區安然無恙，市內卻有超過千輛車淹沒在水中。
美國總統歐巴馬今天說，他已向德州州長艾波特（Greg Abbott）保證，聯邦政府會協助德州從洪水中復原。
艾波特已宣布州內至少40個郡進入災難狀態，包括休士頓所在的哈立斯郡（Harris County）。
艾波特昨天描述閃電般襲來的洪水「如一面無情水牆，把大樹像草一樣掃斷」。
他也飛至奧斯汀（Austin）以南地區，評估龍捲風、暴雨、大雷雨及洪水造成的災損。種種天災迫使居民撤離和爬上屋頂求救，許多人家也停電。
他說：「德州從來沒有看過這麼大的洪水。」
他在形容危險的天氣系統侵襲德州與奧克拉荷馬州的情況時，表示房舍「幾乎從地圖上完全消失」。
墨西哥北部龍捲風和美南洪水屬於同一個風暴系統，龍捲風從美國德州德利奧（Del Rio）一路橫掃里奧格蘭德（Rio Grande）。這個系統在兩國已奪走至少24條人命。
墨西哥北部邊境城市昨天遭受龍捲風襲擊，一名被龍捲風從父母手中捲走的嬰兒，屍體已經找到，使得死亡人數增至14人。
死者包括10名成人和4名小孩，並有近290人受傷。
墨西哥聯邦政府表示，持續僅6秒的龍捲風摧毀247間住宅，並使450間住宅受損。
